It started with a honeymoon.
My husband and I booked San Diego Comic Con as our honeymoon destination — only to discover we couldn’t get tickets to the actual convention. The suggestion that followed was simple enough: start a nerd blog, build something, and then see if you can get a press pass.
So I did.
That Tumblr became Get Your Comic On. Two years later it moved to a full website. By 2018 the press pass arrived, and it hasn’t stopped since. Thirteen years, 1.5 million unique visitors, a podcast in the GoodPods top 100, and a team of brilliant writers later — what started as a solution to a honeymoon problem is now one of the UK’s leading independent pop culture publications.
This site is something different. This is where I exist outside of GYCO — as a writer, a commentator, a broadcaster in progress, and occasionally as someone with thoughts too personal for a publication masthead.
I’m available for podcast appearances, panel discussions, and media commentary. Comics, film, TV, gaming, anime, independent publishing, the increasingly blurred line between fandom and mainstream media — that’s my world.
If you want to talk, the mail link is right there.
