I guess the question that’s going to come up as soon as I publicise this website and add it to my online profiles will be: why a personal website? So I’m going to use this post to tackle a couple of questions.
Why a website?
I’ve been utilising LinkedIn quite a bit to post about aspirations. But there’s only so far a LinkedIn profile can reach. Now felt like a good time to have a permanent place to share my work, more about who I am outside of Get Your Comic On and what my aspirations are in the industry.
Why now?
Now felt like a good time to do this because I’ve been trying (and failing) to push outside of my comfort zone in areas I’d like to get involved with. I’ve had some close calls with radio appearances. I’ve had less success with trying to get on a panel for a comic con. So with the website stable and successful now felt like the right time to advertise my services.
What Does this Mean for GYCO?
Absolutely nothing. I’ll still be there just as much as I always have been. Only now if you’re looking to engage with me for… stuff… outside the website then this will be the place to do it.
How often will you update this blog?
Good question. Right now I don’t know. The idea isn’t for this to be some lifestyle site focussed purely on me. I might share some professional insights on here. Maybe muse over some career highlights etc. but this won’t be a regularly updated resource.
